Does it feel like me?

My husband would tell you that my clothes are hilarious. Rows & rows of black tops, he makes fun of me when I’m looking for a particular black top or buying a new one! I have hundreds 🤭 The funny part is that I love colour & prints & I’m always drawn to the colours & textures in any fabric shop. I’ve tried so hard to wear colour but it just doesn’t feel like me. When I wear black I get dressed & then stop thinking about what I’m wearing for the rest of the day. I feel more confident & peaceful, content & comfortable.
A while ago I followed a course on personal style & how the different elements of what we put on give us the perfect mix of who we are. This, in turn, gives us that great feeling of peace in our clothes.
You know the days when you wear a random sweatshirt that’s just not your usual shape. You’ll spend the whole day tugging on the neck or fidgeting with the sleeves that feel weird. My solution to that is to cut off the neck of every sweatshirt I own & to realise I have a short body so the length usually needs hacking off too.
I finally solved my colour need by always wearing it on my bottom half 🙌🏻 As long as I can see mostly black out the corner of my eye I feel comfortable.
Lots of my kimono layers & ReLayers have black collar & cuffs to help with “seeing” the black & I’ll always wear a black vest top underneath.
I’d love to know, what are some of your “rules” when you get dressed? What makes you relax as you decide what to wear? Do you need to cover your upper arms to feel good? Or wear a colour from your season? Maybe your wardrobe has to speak to you each day & what you feel great in changes day to day? Hopefully as my collection grows you’ll find a Layer or ReLayer for all your moods & comfort levels. Stay tuned friends…
Feel free to share with friends, I promise never to bombard you with emails & I’ll never share your info
